Hiba is a Southern California native who grew up in Orange County and is a senior at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Global Studies. She hopes to use her major to bring about social change while also pursuing a career in international development or a law degree in the coming years. Hiba, who spent the summer in The Hague, The Netherlands, known as the "International City of Peace and Justice," enjoys learning about human rights and international injustices that exist in today's society. During her month-long academic visit, she learned a lot about the formal procedures of international trials and crimes. This trip allowed her to appreciate the world's diverse cultures and communities. She hopes to continue traveling and learning about current social issues in order to gain a better understanding of how to implement effective change.
Prior to joining JCI, Hiba worked in a variety of customer service roles, where she enjoyed connecting with people and hearing their fascinating and inspiring stories. The highlight of her time was being able to walk away feeling good about making a small difference in their lives, even if only for a few minutes. She also interned for a crypto law firm specializing in start-up blockchain companies and later, for the Honorable Judge Kimberly Menninger, a Superior Court judge in Orange County, California.
At JCI, Hiba hopes to learn more about sustainability efforts and other campaign initiatives aimed at making the world a brighter and safer place for future generations. Hiba enjoys exercising and being outside, whether sitting in parks or walking on the beach. She is an avid photographer and dessert lover. When she is not in school or at work, she spends time at home with her family and friends.
