Samantha is a senior at the University of California, Los Angeles, double-majoring in Psychology and Communications with a minor in Statistics and Data Science. With a background in marketing, journalism, and consulting, she’s passionate about using creative storytelling to inspire positive social change.
At UCLA, Samantha serves as the Director of Editorial for RefineLA, a sustainable fashion club dedicated to sparking dialogue on how college students can incorporate sustainability into their everyday lives. Her favorite original piece for RefineLA covered the club’s spring fashion show, featuring designs made from 100% repurposed materials.
This past summer, Samantha worked as a marketing intern at Blue Shield of California where she applied her studies to design a behavioral psychology framework that optimized member health email campaigns. Previously, she worked on the social media team at Artists & Fleas in Venice, where she developed skills in trend forecasting and media analytics, helping the brand gain greater visibility in the local community.
Excited to support sustainability initiatives at JCI, Samantha is eager to learn more about how public relations can shape statewide policy. In her free time, she enjoys taking long walks on the beach, exploring vintage flea markets, and cafe-hopping with friends. She also runs her own blog and podcast and hopes to expand her media projects this year.
