Course Elements
One of the key strategies emphasized in the course is the importance of intelligence and research gathering. Attorneys are taught how to gather and vet information quickly, decide on public responses, and obtain legal approval—a critical skill in today's fast-paced media environment. By anticipating and "war gaming" potential developments in a legal case, attorneys can be better prepared to communicate with media, employees, investors, and other stakeholders as needed.
Another standout feature of this course is its focus on establishing influencer coalitions. Attendees learn how to build relationships with key influencers and stakeholders who may impact their cases, thus increasing their credibility and ability to shape public opinion. They will also learn to mobilize these coalitions comprised of media, government, and advocacy groups to win media attention and support for their clients' causes.
The course also covers proactive media engagement, using high-profile legal battles as case studies for attendees to learn how to develop clear, concise messaging tailored to specific outlets and platforms, rehearse responses to opponents' attacks, and select the most advantageous media outlets to present their case. On top of this, our speakers address ethical concerns in the realm of communications, including conflicts of interest.
